It was hard for me to pick one particular writer as my favorite because the only writer I've read more than a handful of works from is Shakespeare and though he was a great writer, I personally don't care for Shakespearean language. Of the plethora of books I was forced to read in high school, I would probably have to pick The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini as my favorite. Though I shouldn't, I always judge a book by its cover so when I saw this book my first thought was "sparknotes". But thanks to my wonderful teacher at the time, who thought it would be a cool idea to give a detailed quiz on every 3 chapters, I was forced to read it and I couldn't be happier I did. This book was such a crazy trip into someone else's life that is so different from mine, yet the more I read the more I felt myself in the story. I actually felt as though I was living in Afghanistan through the Russian invasion. His attention to details, characters, and emotions were so brilliantly written that it was impossible not to let them consume me. The reason I'm choosing Khaled Hosseini is because I have a lot of respect for him and his style of writing. Not many authors can write a story that really pulls me in and he did. I even got a little emotional at times *tear*.

Well, this is my first time writing a blog so I don't know how this really works so, peace out cub scouts.

This is a wonderful start to your blog--and I like the layout, too.
ReplyDeleteAs for Hosseini, I think I read his blockbuster book too late, for everyone had praised it and adored it and talked about not being able to put it down and I was expecting to be knocked over. But it is good--and those last scenes are still with me....
