The Fun House Mirror Self Image of the Soul
What ugly is to one,
is what others account
for the mystery,
-Beauty.
Beauty, we behold,
and the eye will compose
what it will on virgin minds.
Don’t you see?
The fun house mirror
self image of the soul
is the absolute you,
and the bona fide me,
we could, -or rather,
we should, ever crave to be.

I had to do a sketch of this painting, write a poem about it, and a 5 page paper *kill me!*. I have no clue what was going through Picasso's mind when he painted this, but what I got from it was that when this woman was looking at herself, she was seeing all the complexities she consisted of and seeing herself as beautiful. I may be wrong, it might actually be the opposite which I wouldn't doubt since the face of the mirrored image is kind of ugly compared to the girl, but who really knows. I also thought maybe she could be a pregnant woman (referring to the fact that she is larger than her mirrored image and also to the circle in her stomach area) but if I would've gone with that logic, it would've been a weird poem to have to write. Anyway, I figured I should post it here since it's my most recent poem. Procrastinating from my 5 page paper right now has nothing to do with it. Just kidding, yes it does, but now that I have nothing else to write, I guess I should get to it. Peace!

Excellent. Glad you were forced to spend so much time with Picasso. Look what came of it!
